The derivative of the expression ln (tanx) by first taking the terms by parts. We use the logarithmic and trigonometric theorems of differential calculus. The derivative of ln x is dx / x while the derivative of tan x is sec^2 x dx. hence the complete derivation of the function ln (tanx) is sec^2 x dx / x.
