To find the perimeter use the formula s+s+s+s
(One s for each side)
Assuming the shape is a quadrilateral, each side should be added
So 4+4+5+5=18
The perimeter is 18in
To find the area do l*w
Once again, assuming the shape is a parallel (the formula changes depending on the shape)
4*5=20
The area of the shape is 20in^2
