If 4x is one factor of 4x^2-12x, what is the other factor?

    If you factor 4x²-12x, you can divide 4x from each term.

    4x² : 4x = x

    -12x : 4x = - 3

    Therefore, the other term becomes (x-3) because 4x (x-3) = 4x²-12x
