    C1=15%, M1=10000 mg (starting ointment)

    C2=0% M2=to be found (diluent)

    C=12% M=M1+M2 (product)

    Solve for M2

    0.15*10000+0*M2 = 0.12 (10000+M2)

    M2 = (0.15-0.12) * 10000/0.12=2500 mg

    Answer: 2500 mg of diluent is required.
