A bands first song is 4 minutes, 12 long and has 462 beats the band wants to have a second wants to have a second song that is 3 minutes, 54 seconds long with the same beats per minute as the first song. There would be (blank) total beats in the second song.

    12/60 = 0.2

    4 + 0.2 = 4.2

    462 beats in 4.2 minutes means 110 beats per minute

    462 / 4.2 = 110

    y = 110x

    3 minutes and 54 seconds is the same as

    54/60 = 0.9

    3 + 0.9 = 3.9

    y = 110 (3.9)

    y = 429 beats
