A book shows an enlarged photo of a carpenter bee. A carpenter bee is about 6*10^-3 m long. The photo is 13.5 cm long. About how many times as long as a carpenter bee is the photo?

    A ratio compares values. A ratio says how much of one thing there is compared to another thing. We do as follows:

    length of photo / length of a carpenter bee = ratio of the two

    13.5 / 6x10^-3 = 2250

    Therefore, the photo is 2250 longer than the carpenter bee.
