The angle of elevation of a ladder leaning against a wall is 48°. If the ladder is 25 feet long, how far is the base of the ladder from the wall?

    Tanθ = opp/adj

    tan (48°) = 25/adj

    adj x tan (48°) = 25

    adj = 25/tan (48°)

    adj = 22.5ft

    Ans: The base of the ladder to the wall is 22.5ft
