Tree Brothers spent different amounts of money on their recent vacation. Matt spent $25 less than Todd. Jeff spent as much as Matt. How much did each brother spend if they spent a total of $275?

    Matt spent $25, while Todd spent $125.

    (T - 25) = M = J

    T + M + J = 275

    Plug in for M and J

    T + (T - 25) + (T - 25) = 275

    3T - 50 = 275

    3T = 325

    T = 108.33 (about)

    Todd pays $108.33. Matt and Jeff pay $25 less than him.

    108.33 - 25 = 88.33

    Todd : $108.33

    Matt : $88.33

    Jeff : $88.33
