Suppose you have a coupon for 10% off and you use it to buy cd which was already discounted 15%. Do you end up a discount of 25%. Explain your answer

    No. First you would take 15% of the original price. Then you would take 10% off of the new price.

    For example if you had a 100 dollar item: 15% off = 85 then 10% off of that = $76.5

    See how the answer is 76.5 NOT 75 (the answer you would get with 25% off)
