4x - 4y = 8

4x - 3y = 11.

The first minus the second.

-4y + 3y = - 3

-y = - 3. Divide both sides by - 1

y = 3.

Substitute this value into the very first equation

x - y = 2, y = 3

x - 3 = 2

x = 2 + 3 = 5.

Therefore x = 5, y = 3.
