The Parks and Recreation office of Nappanee, Indiana wants to plant new trees in their city park. To provide enough shade, a landscaper recommends planting 3 trees per square unit. Currently, they have planted 10 square units with trees.

1. After two more weeks of work, they take stock and notice that they have planted a total of 111 trees. How many square units have they planted?

At last the project is finished.

2. The Nappanee Parks and Recreation office happily reports to the newspaper that they planted a total of 135 trees. How much additional park area did they plant with trees?
