A building casts a shadow 48 feet long. At the same time a 40 foot tall flag pole casts a shadow 9.6 feet long. What is the fight of the building?

    Ratio of height of the flag pole to the length of its shadow = 40:9.6 = 25:6

    Ratio of height of the building to the length of its shadow = x:48 = 25:6

    x/48 = 25/6

    x = (48 x 25) / 6 = 1200/6 = 200

    Therefore, the height of the building is 200 feet.
