Sharon has at most $25 to spend on her sister's birthday gift. She already bought a knitting machine for her, which cost $14.99. She would also like to get her sister some skeins of yarn to go with it. Each skein costs $2.75.

Write an inequality to represent this problem. Use y to represent the number of skeins of yarn.

What is the most number of skeins Sharon can afford to buy? Justify your answer in two or more complete sentences.

    She can get 9 skeins for the present. It works because if she already used 15$ then she has 10$ left. So she could get 9 skeins because 2.75•9=24.75 which she would have 25cents back

    Y=2 ($2.75) Sharon can only buy 3. She only has $25 that will give her only 3 that she can buy. $25-$14.99=$10.01 3 ($2.75) = $8.25 $10.01-$8.25 = $1.76

    Sharon wouldn't have enough to buy a 4th one.
