Niles and Bob sailed at the same time for the same length of time. Niles' sailboat traveled 45 miles at a speed of 9 mph, while Bob's motorboat traveled 70 miles at a speed of 14 mph. For how long were Niles and Bob traveling?

    Speed = distance/time (formula)

    Nile - 9/1 = 45/?

    Bob-14/1=70/?

    9*5=45

    14*5=70 so

    1*5 = 5 hours (for Nile)

    1*7 = 7 hours (for bob)
