Jason is using a 1/3 gallon pitcher to fill an empty 3/4 gallon water jug. how much water will he need to completely fill the water jug?

    Jason will need to use 9 more 1/3 gallon-ful pitchers to fill the rest of the empty 3/4 gallon water jug. You convert the two fractions so they have the same denominator (1/12 and 3/12). Then you add the remaining amount of 1/12's to complete 12/12, or 1.
