Each year Albuquerque, New Mexico, has a ho air balloon festival during which people can obtain rides in hot air balloons. Suppose part of the Diaz family goes in one balloon and other family members go in another balloon. because that fly at different altitudes and carry different weights, one balloon travels at 14 mph, while the other travels in the same direction at 11 mph. In how many hours will they be 12 miles apart?

    Well, the difference (or relative speed) is 3 mph. They get 12 miles apart in 4 hours.
