A boy bought a sandwhich 49 inches long. He want to cut it into 3 pieces. the middle piece is 5 inches longer than the shortest piece. The shortest piece is 8 inches shorter than the longest piece. How long should the three pieces be?

    S+M+L=49

    (L-8) + (S+5) + L=49

    2L+S=49
