Write each of the number 1, 4, 9, and 25 ad a base raised to the second power. Explain why these numbers sometimes are called perfect squares.

    This is because 1 x 1 = 1

    2 x 2 = 4

    3 x 3 = 5

    5 x 5 = 25

    The idea of 'square' is that if you put these as side lengths of a quadrilateral, it would be a square.
