    6 - (3x + 10) + 4 (-x + 2) = 15

    6 - 3x - 10 + 4 (-x) + 4 (2) = 15

    6 - 3x - 10 - 4x + 8 = 15

    -3x - 4x + 6 - 10 + 8 = 15

    -7x - 4 + 8 = 15

    -7x + 4 = 15

    - 4 - 4

    -7x = 11

    -7 - 7

    x = - 1⁴/₇

    5 (x + 1) = 4 (x + 8)

    5 (x) + 5 (1) = 4 (x) + 4 (8)

    5x + 5 = 4x + 32

    - 4x - 4x

    x + 5 = 32

    - 5 - 5

    x = 27
