Is negative square root 17 a whole number?

    No, because nothing can go into 17 evenly so it would come out as - 4.123105626. For the square root of 17 negative or not it is as low as it can be for the only way you can get 17 is by doing 1 times 17. 17 is what would be considered a prime number
