The correct option is B. In order for John to understand the supervisory style employed by his immediate supervisor, he does not needs to know the type of sport that his supervisor enjoys, for that particular information is not related to how the supervisor expects John to handle office work. The other statements are John's job related and they are good means of getting insight into the supervisory style of a supervisor.
