Sam is practicing long track speed skating at an ice skating rink. The distance around the rink is 250 yards. He has skated around the rink 6 times so far. How many more yards does he need to skate around the rink to complete 3 miles?

    250 yards around the rink and he already went around it 6 time so ... 250 yards * 6 = 1500 yards he has skated so far.

    there is 1760 yards in 1 mile

    so 1760 yards * 3 = 5280 yards

    he has to go a total of 5280 yards to reach 3 miles so and he has already went 1500 yards

    5280 yards - 1500 yards = 3780 yards to go
