A farmer owns 42 acres of land, of the 42 acres, only 85% can be farmed. How many acres are available for farming?

    Answer: 35.7

    How?

    Simple. An easy trick I use is by dividing the number by 100, and multiplying by the percent.

    So 42/100 x 85 = 35.7
