How to get the x intercept

y = (2x+3) (x-1) (x-4)

    Well, to get the x intercept you have to substitute 0 for y and solve for x, and get rid of the parenthesis (y=2x+3*x-1*x-4) unless you want three different x-intercepts. So if you do want those three intercepts, leave the parenthesis.
