A 13 foot ladder is placed diagonally placed against a house. If the house is 12 feet tall what angle does the ladder make with the ground

    Use Pythagoras theorem

    13^2 = 12^2 + x^2

    x^2 = 13^2 - 12^2

    x^2 = 169 - 144 = 25

    x = 5 ft answer
