3/4x + 6.75 = 15
Now we will subtract 6.75 from both sides of the equation.
3/4x = 8.25
To get rid of the fraction, we will multiply 8.25 by 4, then divide it by 3.
3/4x • 4 : 3 = 8.25 • 4 : 3
x = 11
Another way to do this would be to divide 3 by 4 and write. 75x, then divide. 75 into 8.25. It would still get us 11.
In this equation, x is equal to 11.
