Is it possible to factor #y = 3x^2-2x-1 #? If so, what are the factors?

    Y = 3x² - 2x - 1

    y = 3x² - 3x + x - 1

    y = 3x (x - 1) + 1 (x - 1)

    y = (3x + 1) (x - 1)
