We need to convert nickles to cents. 1 nickle is 5 cents, so 6 nickles is 30 cents. Now 1 dollar is 100 cents, so 5 dollars is 500 cents.
Simplify 30/500.
Both numerator and denominator have a 0, so we can cross that 0 out.
3/50
