I'm guessing you have to simplify this?

You distribute 4 to whatever is in the parenthesis.

    So

    4•y=4y

    4•6=24

And of course there's the 5y that stays the same.

    You get 4y+24+5y

Which simplifies to 9y+24 because you can group the 4y and 5y together.

In the end, you get 9y+24.
