    3 (2x-4) = 2 (x+4)

    6x-12=2x+8

    6x-2x=8+12

    4x=20

    x=20/4

    x=5

    Simplify the equation to

    6x-12=2x+8

    Subtract 2x from both sides

    4x-12=8

    Add 12 to both sides

    4x=20

    Divide both sides by 4

    x=5
