    4a-18=6a+4 First, we have to bring A to one side of the equation, by subtracting the two by each other.

    -18=2a+4 Switch sides so that the equation makes sense.

    2a+4=-18 We can then subtract 4 from each side.

    2a=-20 We can then divide each side by 2.

    a=-10 There is your answer!
