Given that a truck can drive 3 miles with 0.5 gallons of gasoline, how many gallons does it need to drive 39 miles?

    If we drive 3 miles per 1/2 gallon, multiply both 3 and 0.5 by 13.

    3 x 13 = 39 (total miles)

    0.5 x 13 = 6.5 (total gallons)

    6.5Gal is your answer.
