    Let the width be x, it length is 2x - 4

    Area = length x width

    x (2x - 4) = 170

    2x^2 - 4x - 170 = 0

    x^2 - 2x - 85 = 0

    x = 10.27

    Therefore, the width ≈ 10.27 ft and the length is 2 (10.27) - 4 ≈ 16.54
