Since my uncles farmyard appears to be overrun with dogs and chickens. i asked him how many of each he had. he responded that his dogs and chickens had a total of 148 legs and 60 heads. how many dogs and chickens are there on my uncles farm?

    Assuming that all the animals are dogs, the number of legs there are would be 240.

    60*4=240 legs

    240-148=92 legs

    All the 92 legs belong to the chickens, so there are 46 chickens.

    Since there are 46 chickens,

    60-46=14 dogs
