Adam says that the number 4 has four factors. Explain why this statment is incorret

    The number 4 has three factors, and they include : 1, 2, and 4.

    1 * 4 = 4

    2 * 2 = 4

    4 * 1 = 4

    There are only three factors of 4. Nothing preceding that. There are no other possible factors of 4, therefore, that is incorrect, because 4 only has three factors.

    The number 4 only has 3 (positive) factors:

    4*1=4

    1*4=4

    2*2=4

    They are 1, 2 and 4

    If you include negatives:

    -4*-1=4

    -2*-2=4

    Then it has 6 factors
