The length of a rectangle is twice its width. if the area of the rectangle is 162 cm2, find its perimeter.

    Let the width of the rectangle be x

    Then, the length of the rectangle will be 2x

    The area of the rectangle will be

    2x (x) = 2x^2

    Since the area of the rectangle is 162cm2

    2x^2=162

    x^2=81

    x=9

    Width of the rectangle=9

    Length of the rectangle=9x2=18

    Perimeter of a rectangle

    =2 (width) + 2 (length)

    =2 (9) + 2 (18)

    =54cm
