Ms. Jones had a roll of plastic that was 8 2/3 feet long. She cut off a piece that was feet 6 1/2 long. How much plastic was left on the roll?

8 2/3 - 6 1/2 = 8 4/6 - 6 3/6 = 2 1/6

There was 2 1/6 feet of plastic left on a roll

    The answer is B. when turned into a fraction, 87-49 over 9 = 38/9 which when turned into a mixed fraction is 4 2/9
