Diane sold nine decorated the flowers that cost the same amount each plus a dozen roses for $28. All together she sold $73 in flowers. How much was each decorated flower?

    First, subtract the price of the roses from the total price of the flowers to get the price of the decorated flowers.

    $73-$28 = $45

    Divide $45 by the number of decorated flowers to get the price of one flower

    $45/9=$5
