There are 56 eggs that need to be packaged in cartons. Each carton holds 12 eggs. How many eggs will be left over after the eggs are packaged?

    56 is in between 48 and 60 (12*4 and 12*5). The largest whole number it can be put into is 4. 56-48 equals 8 eggs left.
