First divide through by - 3 to make it a bit easier to solve:-

x^4 - 9x^2 - 400 = 0

factoring:-

(x^2 - 25) (x^2 + 16) = 0

so x^2 = 25 or - 16

so x = 5, - 5, 4i, - 4i answer
