If 2^ (3x+2) = 64, what is the value of x?

    The answer is 2. First you square root both sides to get rid of the exponent. This leaves you with 3x+2 = 8. Then subtract the 2 from both sides leaving you with 3x=6. Finally, divide each side by 3.
