Answer: x = - 6/35
x + 6/5 + x + 1/7 = 1
Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation. x + 6/5 + x + 1/7 = 1 Simplify: 2x + 47/35 = 1
Step 2: Subtract 47/35 from both sides. 2x + 47/35 - 47/35 = 1 - 47/35 2x = - 12 / 35
Step 3: Divide both sides by 2. 2x / 2 = - 12 / 35 / 2 x = - 6 / 35
Answer: x = - 6 / 35
