Each paperclip is 3/4 of an inch long and cost $0.02. Exactly enough paper clips are laid end to end to have a total length of 36 inches. What is the total cost of these paperclips?

    First find the total number of paperclips:

    36 / (3/4) = 36 /.75 = 48 paperclips
