    Correlation is the measure of the type of association between two variables. There can be a positive, a negative or no association between two variables.

    A correlation can be called association when it can be ascertained that the result in one variable is as a result of the result of the other variable. Though correlation is a condition for causation, but correlation does not imply causation.

    Therefore, given that there were a strong correlation between the variables n and p, the true statement is " n may cause p".
