    4m³ + 12xm² - 8m² - 24xm

    Part A

    Rewrite the expression and factor it into groups to obtain

    4m³ - 8m² + 12xm² - 24xm

    = 4m² (m - 2) + 12xm (m - 2)

    = (4m² + 12xm) (m - 2)

    Answer: (4m² + 12xm) (m - 2)

    Part B

    Because 4m² + 12xm = 4m (m + 3x), the completely factored xpression is

    4m (m + 3x) (m - 2)
