30.63 for 3 sets of pencils ... that means each set cost (30.63 / 3) =

10.21 ... so the change in his account for 1 set of pencils is - $ 10.21 <=

What you would do is you would divide the total by the number of packages he bought, so 30.63/3=10.21 is the original price he would pay for one package of pencils
