    Half of 126 = 63, which is the sum of 1 length and 1 width.

    since length = 6 times width, then 63 = 7 * width. or, 63/7 = 9 is width.

    9*54 = 10*54 - 54 = 540 - 54 = 486

    to use a formula, knowing that length = 6w you'd have

    126=2 * (w+6w)

    126 = 2*7w

    w=126/2*7 = 63/7 = 9

    area = 9*54 = 486
