The ratio of the sale price of a textbook to the original price is 1:3. the original price is $81. what is the sale price?

    Ratio = 1:3

    or in other words = sale price:original price

    Therefore, it'd look like this = sale price:$81

    So to work out the original price, you'd do $81 divided by 3 (81 : 3 = $27).

    The sale price is $27.
