Given: The universal set = {all animals}; A = {hogs}; B = {cows}; C = {horses}; D = {foals}; E = {mares}. Click on the diagram until you find the one that correctly represents the expression. (Note: mares are female horses, foals are baby horses).

    The universal set will contain all of the sets, A, B, C, D and E.

    Next, because hogs, cows and horses are different animals, they will all be in separate, non-overlapping sets.

    Finally, D and E are types of horses so they will be complete contained within set C. Note that a baby horse may either be male or female, so the set D and set E will overlap.
