Suppose 60% of kids who visit a doctor have a fever, and 30% of kids with a fever have sore throats. What's the probability that a kid who goes to the doctor has a fever and a sore throat?

    Probability of compound events:

    P (A and B) = P (A) · P (B)

    P (A) = 0.6

    P (B) = 0.3

    P (A and B) = 0.6 · 0.3 = 0.18 (or 18 %)
